22 March 2012: At its 7th Session the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted a new Decision laying down Protocol Rules (Official Gazzette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 23/2012). The new document shall primarily amend the section regarding the work of the Coordination Committee for State Celebrations whereby the administrative, technical, financial and organisational duties so far carried out by the Coordination Committee for State Celebrations will be taken over by the General Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Protocol of the Republic of Slovenia.

 

30 December 2009: At its 61st session the Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued the Ordinance on the Establishment and Tasks of Work of the Government's Protocol Service (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 1/2010). The new ordinance regulates legal basis for the operation of the Protocol of the Republic of Slovenia in the current constitutional order of the Republic of Slovenia and replaces outdated ordinance from 1988 (Official Gazette of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia No 29-1600/1988, page nr. 1984).

 

22 October 2009: At its 50th session the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted a Decision amending the Decision laying down protocol rules (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No 56/07) currently in force. The new Decision laying down protocol rules shall amend the existing Decision laying down protocol rules, primarily for the purpose of changing the practice and rationalizing the work of the Protocol of the Republic of Slovenia. 3. What does R.S.V.P. stand for?

This abbreviation of French origin (Répondez s'il vous plaît) can be translated into "Please, respond." Usually, it can be found in the bottom right corner of an invitation and implies that one should confirm or cancel his/her attendance.
